Blood Pressure Monitor

Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against artery walls as it is pumped by the heart. It is measured as systolic pressure (heart pumping) and diastolic pressure (heart relaxing) in mmHg.
Persistent elevation of systolic BP ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic BP ≥90 mmHg, taken at least twice on two separate occasions.
Rossmax displays a classification chart based on WHO standards with 6 grades, shown visually on the device.
Home BP measurement is a useful adjunct in diagnosing and managing hypertension. It improves patient compliance and provides potential cost savings. (Ref: Clinical Practice Guidelines – Management of Hypertension, 5th Ed., 2018)
Characterized by clinic BP persistently above 140/90 mmHg but home systolic/diastolic BP lower than 135/85 mmHg — elevated readings only in a clinical environment.
Patients have normal clinic BP but elevated home BP (≥135/85 mmHg) — opposite of white coat hypertension.
PARR specifically detects pulse arrhythmia including Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), Premature Contractions (PC), Tachycardia (TACH), and Bradycardia (BRAD) during regular blood pressure measurements — with no additional user skills or prolonged measurement required.
When pulse arrhythmia is detected during BP measurement, the ARR icon is displayed. If PARR can specify the type, it shows ARR + the specific type (e.g., AFib, PC). If not determinable, it shows ARR only.
The upper heart chambers (atria) do not contract but quiver, driving blood irregularly and inefficiently into the ventricles, causing irregular and mostly fast, unstable heartbeats.
Extra, abnormal heartbeats generated in abnormal heart locations, disrupting regular rhythm and sometimes causing palpitations (skipped beats).
Fast heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute (BPM) in adults.
Slow heart rate of less than 55 beats per minute (BPM) in adults.
Strongly recommended to consult a physician if the icon appears newly for several times, or if the incidence of readings changes over time. The doctor will arrange required medical tests and therapeutic procedures.
PARR has a clinically proven high detection probability. Sensitivity is 74.07% for PC and 78.67% for AFib — sensitivity over 70% is considered extraordinary given the raw data complexity. PARR is not a replacement for ECG diagnosis; it provides early detection that must be confirmed by a doctor.
NORM: Sensitivity 99.47%, Specificity 95.41% (189 cases)
ARR: Sensitivity 95.16%, Specificity 96.98% (186 cases)
BRAD: Sensitivity 100%, Specificity 99.14% (36 cases)
TACH: Sensitivity 97.5%, Specificity 99.13% (40 cases)
PC: Sensitivity 74.07%, Specificity 95.17% (54 cases)
AFib: Sensitivity 78.67%, Specificity 98.39% (75 cases)
Total: 385 data entries.
The cuff automatically inflates. During deflation, the doctor manually detects Korotkoff sounds via stethoscope to mark systolic and diastolic pressure, which are then displayed on the device. It can also be used for fully automatic measurements.
Determines ideal cuff pressure automatically based on the user's systolic BP and arm size. Eliminates the need to pre-set inflation levels, reducing arm discomfort and preventing inaccurate readings from wrong inflation settings.
Allows users with irregular heartbeats to obtain accurate measurements while alerting them to irregularities detected during measurement. Consult a physician if the IHB icon appears often.
Rossmax uses the WHO blood pressure ranges classified into 6 grades. Some models use the JNC-7 (2003) standard. The "traffic light" indicator on the side of the monitor is the Blood Pressure Level Indicator.
Each monitor includes a standard Universal Cone cuff (24–40cm). Other sizes: S (18–26cm), M (24–36cm), L (34–46cm) sold separately. Professional models include all sizes: S (16–24cm), M (24–36cm), L (34–46cm).
Wrap the cuff correctly and check the white arrow. If it falls outside the solid color line, switch to a different size. Follow the instructions printed on the cuff and the "Applying Cuff" section in the manual.
Oxford textile material (latex free), which is less likely to cause allergies.
The ergonomic cone-shaped design promotes an easy and comfortable measurement experience, minimizing discomfort even for users with large arms during high inflation.
It indicates whether the cuff is wrapped around the arm properly (cuff detection).
Reminds users to remain still during measurement for an accurate reading. The symbol only appears when movement is detected.
Not recommended. Leaving batteries in the compartment long-term may cause leakage and damage the device.
Yes, but this can be avoided by inserting batteries. Always switch off the device after use, then unplug the adaptor from the device before turning off the socket.
Clinically validated by international certifications: European Hypertension Society (EHS), British & Irish Hypertension Society (BIHS), and Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
Differences lie in extra features such as PARR technology, Bluetooth, memory, cuff detection, and movement detection. All models share the same measurement algorithm, so accuracy is identical across all models.

After every 3,000 measurements or every 2 years, or when accuracy is suspected. The device will show "CA" as a calibration reminder. Free lifetime calibration service (labour cost) is available at Rossmax Service Centre even after warranty expiry.
Using the Rossmax CalPro mobile calibration system, which also functions as a pressure gauge to check or reset the usage record of the meter.
No labour cost for calibration (free lifetime). Customer pays RM25 return / RM15 one-way courier. Any repair parts cost will be confirmed with the customer by the Biomedical Engineer before proceeding.
